Your Every Day To-Do List

How would you like to hear about a four step process to achieving anything you want in your life?  Sounds pretty good, right?

Well, I will warn you; it sounds so ridiculously simple, that your first inclination will be to dismiss it as trivial and silly.

You may also think that it sounds like the stuff in fairy tales..

I might remind you though, in fairy tales, they all live happily ever after…

Seriously, you will read this and do one of three things; you will either A. Dismiss it as dumb and move on, B. Think it sounds like it’s worth a try, and give it a shot for a while, but become inconsistent and over time forget about it, or C. Do it. And accomplish the miraculous.

Listen, if you read my stuff, you know that I’m not one of those people who think you can sit around and wish your way to a wonderful life.  Happiness and contentment come from within, and you need to make the conscious decision to be happy every single day, regardless of circumstances or lousy, negative people.  Also, it takes effort and inspired action to accomplish anything worthy.  Those are my beliefs, and I’m not changing my tune.  However, what I am doing, is giving you four steps that literally everything in motion.  If you will commit to do the things listed below every day, and stay consistent, you will start to move in a certain direction.  The direction that you desire to move in.  As it starts to unfold, you will be motivated to do certain things.  You will begin to attract to yourself many wonderful resources.  These can come in the form of people, books, research material, or specific situations and opportunities, and if you stay focused, you will become inspired and learn how to interact with all of it.

So, instead of making it more complicated, here’s the challenge for you : Give it a try, and let me know what happens.

I will write more about this in the next few days, but it’s really up to you to get started, above all else.

Here’s the list:

1. Make yourself a list of the things you truly desire in your life. These can be things you wish to accomplish, or things you wish to acquire.  It can be a combination of both of those.  More sales on the job, or a nice new Mercedes Benz.  A peaceful and loving relationship, or a big beach house somewhere exotic.  The list should be custom made for you.  Don’t be afraid to go big, either!

2. Look at your list, and read it aloud at least three times every single day. I would suggest once in the morning, once in the middle of the day, and then once again before you go to bed.  But you can read it five or six times a day if you like…just do it at least three times.

3. Take a few moments throughout your day to think about the things on your list. Imagine them being true, and create the feelings within yourself that you have achieved or obtained them. (You can literally do this as many times as you want; every hour if your heart is willing, but make sure you take at least 3-5 minutes a day to do it).

4. Don’t share your list with anyone. Don’t talk about it, mention it, or even hint about it to anyone…not your most trusted friend, spouse or partner, not even your pet!  Mum’s the word!  You’ll just have to trust me on this one for now.  I’ll address it more in some posts over the next few days, but suffice it to say, you only want positive influence.  And ever the most well meaning and wonderful person in the world can really blow it for you when they start projecting their own petty opinions about what can and can’t be accomplished in life.  This is not their gig…it’s yours!  So, shhhhhhhhh.

The real key to unlocking the magic of this formula is understanding what it is you desire.  Be very specific about your dreams and goals.  Take the time to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, what it is you really want to accomplish.  As I wrote about in a post called What, Why, When and How , what you want and why you want it are the aspects of your life that you have total control over.  The what and why are the stuff your dreams are made of; the result of years of your own discerning between what it is you like, and what it is you don’t like.  Take it seriously!  Don’t get caught up in worrying about the how and the when, all of that will unfold to you in perfect time.

I’ll just say this and then I’m done…Stick to it!  It’s an every day thing.
