Our minds are magical. We possess the ability to do amazing things. And all of it starts in our heads. But here’s the crazy part; If you believe that to be true, then you know it’s true. If you don’t believe it, then you know it’s not. Yes, I just made myself dizzy, too. Sorry about that…
But that’s the thing about belief – it truly dictates every part of our lives. The events, circumstances, people and everything else that make up our life experience are directly related to the things we think about most often and the things that we believe to be true.
So what do you believe?
Do you believe in yourself? Do you believe in your ability to accomplish great things? Do you believe that you’re lucky? That good things happen to you? That you’ll always be okay?
Or on the flip side; do you believe that some things are too good to be true? That bad things happen to good people? That you can be in the wrong place at the wrong time?
You have to believe something. In fact, you do believe something…you believe a lot of things…and you can tell what you believe by simply examining your actions. What is it that you’re doing every day? Are you striving to achieve something worthy or just trying to get by? Are you working toward realizing your perfect life or just working for the weekend?
I know I’m asking a lot of questions, but seriously, give it some thought.
Because the wonderful truth is that you can start doing great things and put yourself on the road to a life filled with all that you would like it to be filled with by first, simply believing that you can. By having faith in yourself.
Faith is a mysterious and wonderful thing.
Sadly, a lot of people go through their entire lives and don’t really have faith in anything. They believe in whatever they can touch, see, taste or smell. And really, that’s about it.
Unfortunately, what has happened to these good folks, is that they have unconsciously accepted a tremendous amount of limitation. There is nothing that seems possible to them if it exists outside of that which they have already seen done or maybe read about. And certainly miracles are the things of fairy tales.
But look – even if that has been you up to this point, you can change it!
The dictionary defines faith as “belief that is not based on proof”. The Bible defines faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”.
Well what is this substance and where is this evidence? I’ll tell you where…it’s all in your mind! Faith, in it’s purest form is a mindset. Think about it – it has to come from your mind, because by it’s very definition, it doesn’t exist in the physical world. It’s not “proof” as we know it. You can’t see it. It’s a belief. And it’s not just some crazy idea or some ignorant wish as some might think. It’s an absolute, unwavering belief.
If you can believe it, you can achieve it! That’s where it all starts.
Now there are some things that will happen to you once you change your beliefs. You will become inspired to act a certain way, you will be lead to do certain things. And the key is to act on your impulses. Follow your intuition. Trust in the magic. It’s real. It works. Every time.
Since I referenced the Bible earlier, I’ll use it again here. There is a passage which states that “faith without works is dead”. And actually, that’s a real simple principle. You don’t have to be a theologian, or even read the Bible to get it… If you believe in something, then you’re going to act on that belief. If you don’t act, then you really don’t believe it!
For example, if you truly believe that you can achieve a particular athletic goal, like win a race, you will be inspired to train. And so you can’t just sit around visualizing yourself winning. If you only think about it and believe it, then you’ll lose to the person who thought about it, believed it, and ran every day for three straight weeks in preparation. When you become inspired to train, you need to train. You may feel led to seek someone’s help. Then you need to go find them and get that help. You will act on that which you truly believe in. And it is the action that will ultimately produce the result. But again, it all starts in your mind.
So whatever change you are wanting in your life, believe that you can have it. If it’s a new job, a new friendship, a better financial situation…whatever…it all starts with your ability to believe that you can have it, that you deserve it, and that it is not only possible, but it is absolute fact.
And as for those things that are not seen, those things which no one can prove, those things that haven’t manifest yet… they won’t show up…until you believe they will.
