Pourquoi pas yous?

There are people out there living the life of their dreams.  Their lives are amazing and they are passionate about each day.  They are people just  like you.  Are you one of them?  No? Well, pardon my French but…why the hell not?

Before you get mad at me for that stinging little question, let me assure you that I don’t ask it to be a smart mouth.  I’m not trying to insult you either.  I really mean it in the most constructive possible way.

I want you to know that you are capable of achieving anything in this life that you have the ability to imagine.  You literally can live the life you’ve always dreamed of.  And you have all of the tools you need inside of you already.

Now, I’ll be real with you…it’s a lot easier to say than to do.  And, truthfully, you may be dealing with some extremely difficult circumstances that really aren’t allowing you to visualize much past the next few days.  I get that.  I’ve been there.  And I’ve been there at more than a few times in my life.  The beauty and the reality of it all though, is that you can change your life and you can achieve whatever you want, if you will only believe in yourself, focus on your goals with all of your mind and pursue them with all of your heart.  No matter where you’re starting from.

I found a great poem the other day that really challenges anyone of us who reads it to ask that tough question of ourselves that I mentioned earlier…why not me?  It was written by Steve Maraboli, and I really hope that it speaks to you as powerfully as I think it will.

Read it and see if it inspires you to action in your own life.

Why Not You?

Today, many will awaken with a fresh sense of inspiration. Why not you?

Today, many will open their eyes to the beauty that surrounds them. Why not you?

Today, many will choose to leave the ghost of yesterday behind and seize the immeasurable power of today. Why not you?

Today, many will break through the barriers of the past by looking at the blessings of the present. Why not you?

Today, for many the burden of self doubt and insecurity will be lifted by the security and confidence of empowerment. Why not you?

Today, many will rise above their believed limitations and make contact with their powerful innate strength. Why not you?

Today, many will choose to live in such a manner that they will be a positive role model for their children. Why not you?

Today, many will choose to free themselves from the personal imprisonment of their bad habits. Why not you?

Today, many will choose to live free of conditions and rules governing their own happiness. Why not you?

Today, many will find abundance in simplicity. Why not you?

Today, many will be confronted by difficult moral choices and they will choose to do what is right instead of what is beneficial. Why not you?

Today, many will decide to no longer sit back with a victim mentality, but to take charge of their lives and make positive changes. Why not you?

Today, many will take the action necessary to make a difference. Why not you?

Today, many will make the commitment to be a better mother, father, son, daughter, student, teacher, worker, boss, brother, sister, & so much more. Why not you?

Today is a new day!

Many will seize this day.

Many will live it to the fullest.

Why not you?

  1. Hello from Montana,

Loved your post and have followed you. Would love your comments on my blog at http://www.cyberbullyinghelp.com This poem would be a good addition. Do I need to contact the author to quote it?

Glad we connected. Always good to find kindred spirits and similar goals with others.

Hi Judy – great to hear from Montana!

I appreciate the kind words, it means a lot to me.

There are a couple of people with the same name as the author of the poem, so I’m not sure who to reach out to. You are welcome to share my posts (just link back to this site), and I will be happy to visit and comment on your site. Thanks so much for sharing.

Take care, I’m also glad that we connected.
