Extraordinary Self Control

Let me take a shot at empowering you.

One of the worst feelings in life is the feeling that you have no control over it.

Maybe that’s how you feel sometimes.  If you do, you’re not alone.  For many people, events and circumstances dictate their mood, attitude, and action (or inaction), and they truly glide through life like a kite tossed around by the wind.  Literally living each day at the mercy of the world around them.

They don’t have to.  And, if you feel like that, neither do you.

I like to say that just about anyone can follow momentum.  However, extraordinary people create it!

You are an extraordinary person.  Whether or not you’re currently experiencing the magnitude of that is based primarily on your mindset.  Like I mentioned in a post called Real Self Help,  you have to first sell yourself on the idea that you are already extraordinary, and then you just need to go about living each day from that perspective.

Empowerment comes from personal responsibility.

YOU are responsible for your life.

If you will take that responsibility and run with it, you can begin to create your own momentum and you will also begin to experience the true miracle of your life and the joy that comes from having control over your destiny.

If you shun that responsibility, then you are actually giving up control of your life.  And once you’ve given up control, it really is sort of a crap shoot.

So here comes the empowering part…

The first thing you need to understand is that you are a unique being.  There is no one else who is exactly like you in the entire universe.  And as such, you have talents and abilities that are unique to you.  You have gifts that you can offer the rest of us extraordinary cats, too!

You need to get in touch with those.

There are things that you are truly passionate about and the sooner you can identify those and start pursuing them, the sooner you will be living a life much more in line with all of those wonderful daydreams you have had throughout the years.

The life of you dreams.  It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?

Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s possible!

It all starts with believing in yourself.  You have to know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you are exceptional.  You have to believe that you are here for a purpose.  A real important one.  And that purpose is not to be kicked around or to live your life at the mercy of the attitude the people in the office around you  have.  Your emotions cannot be based on the latest news report on TV.

YOU have the ability to control your mindset, your belief system and all of your feelings.

You just have to exercise your power to do so.

The best part about a bad day is that you don’t have to choose to have one.  How about that?  Yes, you have a choice!

You can react to life any way that you choose.  That’s called freedom.  And you have it!  You need to know that.

Are you feeling powerful yet?

You should.  You are extraordinary.  Go live like it!

  1. All of us have an exceptional gift to offer. If each of us can find that gift and have a bit of success sharing it… it will become one of the building blocks to self-worth. “Line Upon Line”

However, if one’s mind set is not strong enough to not be impacted by “put downs” and “sarcasm” it’s best not to associate with those folks who invalidate.

I prefer to surround myself with people… such as yourself… who encourage and uplift.

I, in turn, need to remember to encourage more and uplift those who share their unique gifts with me.

With practice… “Line Upon Line” we can become stronger individuals and more self determined.

    Thanks for this thoughtful post.

    Kathryn –

Great to hear from you! Yes, we are all gifted and it is best to associate ourselves with people who encourage.

I also believe that the more in-tune we become with ourselves, the more those positive people are attracted to us. And the more faith we have in our abilities, the less it matters what the naysayers have to offer.

    Onward and upward!
