Blog Challenged

It happens to the best of us.  We hit walls.

I have sort of run headlong into one here recently as it relates to the Blog Challenge that I am currently involved in.

From a sheer numbers standpoint, after this post, I will officially need to post 13 more times in the next 48 hours or so in order to “finish” the challenge…not an easy task!  I did manage to post 19 different times in one 24 hour period once…but that was a little nuts.  And for  some reason, I had ideas flowing through me that entire day.  You know, the sun and the moon and all of the planets and stars lined up, there were no kids around, it was quiet and I had a fridge full of cola (For me, caffeine is a dish best served cold).

Sometimes though, the circumstances don’t come together in exactly the right way to allow us to pull it all off.

More than anything else, as it relates to this blog site, I need to be true to my readers.  And of course, I need to post when I am inspired to do so.

One of the drawbacks to a 30 day blog challenge is that if the inspiration isn’t there, the content suffers…and in the last couple of weeks I haven’t been able to bring myself to post just for the sake of the challenge or for the sake of posting.  I have definitely been able to write, just not at the rapid pace I have needed to in order to complete the challenge.

Now look, blog challenges are great for a few really good reasons.  They definitely cause you to focus on writing; they allow you to meet other writers, read other blogs, develop dialogue and form positive relationships with some really cool people.  All of that is extremely positive and purposeful.

And I also know that, for the most part, they are for fun!

And just so I’m totally clear, I’m certainly not upset with myself for entering, or with anyone who offers such challenges now or in the future.  Not at all.  Like I said, I think they’re great!  And usually, I complete them!

It’s just that…well…in this case, I’m probably not going to pull it off.  (This is where I would insert a little sad face, if that were a manly thing to do).

As an update, there have actually been some very exciting things going on in my personal life these days and so I’m going to be loaded with some great material for weeks to come!  I just haven’t processed it all or decided on the best way to present it to the faithful followers here at Habitual Victory.

And…I do want to thank all of you who have e-mailed with comments, stories, feedback, personal experiences, encouragement, suggestions, etc. in the past few months.  The relationships that I have developed have been positive and wonderful!  And thanks to all of you new readers, who have come as a result of the blog challenge.  I hope you decide to continue making this one of your frequent stops.

Peace…

COOL STUFF THAT’S HAPPENING!

I am currently in the process of developing a coaching program!  I will talk more about this in the near future, and it promises to be something different from any of the other programs that you may be familiar with.  I am developing the program based primarily on the responses I have received from the people who have read my latest book, Habitual Victory: The Truth About Achieving Success, Finding Happiness and Living the Life of Your Dreams. I can tell you that I am humbled and thrilled that it is making such a big difference for so many of you!

Since there are so many of you taking your lives seriously and committing to positive change, I want to develop this strong and sustainable follow up program just for you.  Because the truth is, if you are going to make lasting change in your life and start achieving at a high level in any area, you’re going to need some help.  Just like I have sort of hit the “Blog Challenge Wall”, you’re going to hit a few walls yourself as you strive to grow and move onward and upward.

My passion in life is to help, and so I want to be there for you all in any way that I possibly can.  Living the life of your dreams is a choice you can make and it is something you can achieve.

So, keep your eyes and ears open if you would like to be part of some BIG things that are happening here, and as we look to move forward in the most meaningful and impactful way possible.    As I love to say…”Let’s do ‘dis!”

Quick notes on ways we can stay in touch:

If you aren’t getting updated every time there is a new post at Habitual Victory, GO HERE to get the RSS feed.  (Easy way to stay connected).

Also – if you aren’t already a  fan of our Facebook community, GO HERE to “like” Habitual Victory.  It’s a really strong group of enlightened, intelligent, positive minded, and progressive people who want to live their lives with passion and purpose.  I like to refer to it as “The Fun Bunch”.  We welcome YOU with open arms and hearts!

And finally, if you’d like to receive weekly e-mails from me, SIGN UP HERE.  I won’t send you any crap or share your e-mail with 3rd parties you don’t know about.  I really want to be able to have a more meaningful relationship with you, and so each week I send out inspirational or motivational insights, thoughts, quotes, poems or stories.  It’s all applicable information which is the true purpose of this site in the first place.  It exists as a resource for YOU!  I will also keep you updated on any and all projects or products that I am working on.

Oh, before I quit for the night, and I promise I’m done after this…if you don’t have your own copy of the new e-book, GET IT HERE .  It’s a download, so you could have it and be reading it in a matter of minutes.

Talk soon…

  1. Don’t feel bad, Mike. I have started more than one challenge myself that I didn’t end up completing. Sure, it may be a little discouraging at first. Focus on what you have accomplished instead. You did get 17 posts out there, and there is always another challenge on the horizon for when you are up to it.

P.S. We won’t make fun of you for including an unmanly sad face on your blog. 🙂

First off Angie, if you and everyone else DON’T make fun of me if I ever post a sad face, smiley face, or anything else like that…I’ll be very disappointed. Ha!

Thanks for your comments. No, I’m not really bummed or anything, I just realized that sometimes the challenge thing works and sometimes it doesn’t…all depending on how inspired we are as writers. I’m 2-1 now, meaning I’ve finished two and not finished one.

I love to write, so challenge or not, I will keep it up! Hope you come back often.

    All the best

  3. There’s always next time. 🙂 Sometimes that timing for a challenge and our inspiration just don’t line up (I’ve been there, too). But I’m glad you jumped in and participated and I’ve enjoyed your posts.

Michelle – thanks so much for being here! I hope you come back often.
And you’re right…next time the mojo may be flowin’!
    Take care
