30 Things in 30 Days

Someone once said to me about business, “what gets measured gets done”.

As I recall it was a stiff corporate suit, who seemed to take some strange pleasure in the various ways he exacted torture on his employees by implementing new and creative ways to micro managment them…but, let’s not go there in this post…

to do listThe point he was making was actually a very good one.  And it doesn’t only apply to business.  It makes sense for every part of our lives.

Any plan worth its own weight starts with a clear vision.  And in order to ensure you’re making progress toward your ultimate goal, you need some system of measurment.  Otherwise, that hardline executive I mentioned earlier might rightly ask, “how will you know when you’ve done it?”

As a map and road signs are to the traveler on a cross country journey, so are concise and measurable goals to the person interested in accomplishing great things.

So here’s the scoop…

Over the next four weeks I’m going to attempt to inspire you to make some meaningful changes in your life that will move you toward becoming the greatest possible version of yourself.  I will be posting one quick suggestion, tip, or challenge for you each day, over the next thirty days.  That’s thirty tips in thirty days to help you start living your life with passion and purpose!

These will be specific, measurable things which you can choose to apply immediately, and which won’t require you to make any kind of major overhaul.  Much of what makes life so magical is really simple in nature.  And that’s what I’m shooting for…offering simple little things you can do that will start to seriously improve your quality of life.

Why so many tips in such a short period of time?  Well, there are a couple of reasons for this.  One, life is short.  The sooner we get this bus moving, the better!  And second, you may not need to take every single one of the thirty posts to heart.  There’s a great chance that you’re already doing some of this stuff, and if that’s the case…fantastic!  Plus, the truth is, if you can just find one or two really meaningful improvements that you can make, you’ll be the big winner in this deal.  (Of course you may find nine or ten things that work for you…and that’s a good thing, too!)

Look for the suggestions that really resonate with you and which you can apply immediately.  Set your goals, commit yourself to achieve them, and measure your progress.  After all, we want to make sure this stuff get done!
