From A to B And All Points In Between

From A to B And All Points In Between

I had some business to tend to out of town the other day, so I took a trip on an airplane.  I have traveled quite a bit over the years for business, and I have done a little for pleasure as well.  I enjoy it for the most part, although it usually leaves me a little tired and weary at the end of the day. It did occur to me though, that one of the coolest parts about traveling is how you can start the day, for example, having breakfast in New York City and end the day with your head on your pillow, home sweet home, somewhere in [...]

The Power of Positive

The Power of Positive

Positive energy creates more positive energy.  A positive attitude is literally contagious.  There is almost no cure for it.  Except relentless negativity.  Yes, negative energy is the kryptonite. A negative attitude is also contagious, and it spreads like wildfire.  It cannot easily be contained.  In fact, it can only be squelched by the power of positive. So there you have it.  Positive attitudes and negative attitudes are equally powerful and equally perpetual.  They are also the direct result of a conscious choice that you or [...]

Talent That Works

Talent That Works

I heard something that was pretty profound last night as I was watching the Ultimate Fighting Championship's UFC 107 event on television.  I am a fan of martial arts, and have grown fond of watching these MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) events.  It seems a little violent to some I know, and I also understand that it's not for everyone.  But to me, I truly enjoy watching the skill set of these athletes, as all of the world's fighting arts are put on full display.  It's a clash of cultures and styles, with opponents using everything from [...]

Baseball Moments

Baseball Moments

This morning was pretty cool.  I mean aside from the temperature.  And yes, it still gets a little nippy in the A.M., even out here in the desert. It was cool because I got to watch my son and a bunch of other kids play baseball. It occurred to me as I was watching, that when I am real still and in the moment, life just has this sort of magic feel to it.  It was almost as if I could feel what the players were feeling as they stepped up to the plate, took a few practice hacks, and then got ready to hit against one of their buddies.  [...]

Lace ‘Em Up

Lace ‘Em Up

I love shoe commercials. Okay, I know you're laughing, but I'm serious.  They are truly some of the most inspiring 30 seconds of my life, taking place in those wonderful moments after somebody calls timeout in the game that I'm watching on TV.  They do tend to sneak up on me (no pun intended) but they also carry some really powerful messages. Now look, I'm not talking about the "buy one, get one half-off sale" at Payless Shoes commercials...I'm talking about Nike and Adidas type stuff.  The stuff that lights a fire inside of [...]
